Olympiapark

The Olympiapark Berlin is one of the most important sports facilities of the 20th century in Europe. Located in the western part of the city, the centerpiece of the site is the Olympiastadion, which was built for the 1936 Olympic Games. The grounds also include the Maifeld, which was planned as a parade ground, as well as the swimming, field hockey and equestrian stadiums. In its entirety, the Olympiapark reminds us how Olympic Games can be instrumental in the propaganda of those in political power through the precisely planned architectural language of their buildings.

Today, the Olympiastadion is one of the most modern stadiums in the world. Olympiapark itself is actively used by Berlin sports associations and clubs. The grounds, with their open spaces and green areas, are accessible to all. The Olympiastadion can be visited for an entrance fee.
